  • COMPANY

THOR therapeutics is a KAIST spin-off biopharmaceutical company founded in 2022, headquartered in Daejeon, Korea. We develop precision antibody therapies targeting the GDF15-GFRAL axis, with a primary focus on cancer cachexia and immuno-oncology. Our lead candidate - THOR-017, is an anti-GFRAL monoclonal antibody currently in IND-enabling studies.

  • OUR TEAM

THOR Therapeutics is led by Minho Shong, MD/PhD (Founder & CEO, KAIST) - a lead researcher in GDF15-GFRAL biology and endocrinology. Co-founded by Ho Min Kim, PhD (Expert in structural biology and AI-based antibody design, KAIST) and Jin Kuk Kim, PhD (Specialist in drug development and therapeutics, KAIST).
Our advisory board includes Johan Auwerx, MD/PhD (Nestlé Chair Professor, EPFL Lausanne), Thomas Hanke, PhD (EVP Evotec; former Novo Nordisk, TeGenero) and Myoung Ok Kwon, PhD (Chair, Wyss Zurich Evaluation Board; former Swisscom Ventures, Nextech Invest, Novartis).

  • OUR SCIENCE

THOR's science is built on the GDF15-GFRAL signaling axis - a clinically validated pathway driving cancer cachexia. We engineer precision antibodies that block GFRAL at the D3 domain, inhibiting GDF15-GFRAL-RET signaling at the source. Our pipeline targets cancer cachexia as a primary indication, with additional potential in immuno-oncology, heart failure and sarcopenia.
